My trip to South Korea for four days/three nights was an exhilarating experience. I was there during the Summer season. It was rather hot and humid. Me and my friends stayed at the G-Guesthouse in Itaewon. We decided to stay in Itaeweon based on my friend's recommendation and from what I read, Itaewon is quite the place to be in Seoul with easy access to transportation, food and all the happenings. You can find quite a lot of expats in this area. We opted to stay at a hostel since the hotels nearby are all fully booked. The place is really nice. The room is clean, the owner is really friendly and it is quite easy to find the place. We share our room with two guys; from Canada and South Korea.

The first day was spent trying to find my way around Seoul. Travelling around Seoul is pretty much straight-forward, like other cities I've been. The attractions are well connected through trains/subway. So once you got the hold of the train map, you can pretty much get to anywhere you want. We went to visit the Gyeongbokgung palace, Hanok Village and walk around Myeong Dong on the first day. Myeong Dong is the shopping area in Seoul.

On the second day, we decided to spent the whole day at the Everland theme park. The place is about one and a half hour train ride from Seoul, with few coach changes. To get there, you need to get on the Yongin Ever Line and stop at the Jeondae Everland Station. From there, there are free shuttle bus to take visitors to Everland Theme Park. The entrance ticket for Everland is about 48,000 won. There are discount for foreign visitors, so do ask for it. There were a lot of visitors during the time of our visits. The theme park was really crowded and the queues to get on rides were pretty long. Unlike other theme parks such as Universal Studios, Everland does not sells express pass. So you have to wain in line to get on the ride which is pretty exhauting due to the weather. We only manage to get on few rides. One notable game is the K-Pop hologram concert, where you can watch K-Pop stars perform in front of you. That was really cool for me! We Watched performances by 2NE1 and Big Bang.

On the third day, we continue our visit to theme park. This time we went to the Lotte World. is a combination of indoor and outdoor theme park. There were quite impressive rides which set us thrilled. However there were so many visitors and the queues was pretty much endless. So we only manage to get on two rides which took us about four to five hours of waiting. It was really tiring to wait for hours only to enjoy a five to ten minutes ride. Sigh! So we don't stay at Lotte World for too long as the place was so busy. After all we have decided to visit Insadong to buy souvenirs.

Insadong is where you really feel like a tourist. Personally I really like the area. It is full of shops selling a lot of South Korean stuffs, especially food, souvenirs and cosmetics. This is the place you should get your souvenirs. We manage to try some South Korean delicacies (forgot the name). Interestingly the guy who sold it to us can speak Malay haha! We also bought some souvenirs for friends and family. Then we went ahead to try the Kimchi.

Before we end our final day visit in South Korea, we stopped at the Olympic Stadium. It was pretty late at that time so we just wlak around for a while and go back to the room. Everyone was pretty exhausted. The next day we packed our bag and say good bye to South Korea.
